Kickstarter Success!

Admittedly, I am quite behind in the blog world.  But this is only because there has been so many exciting things happening at Spring Creek Ranch.  Yes, our Kickstarter Campaign was successful and we raised $5,000 that will go toward organizing and executing the 3rd Annual Celestial Cinema in August of 2014!

And then there have been weddings!  Beautiful, glorious weekends full of friends, fun, relaxing, imbibing, fabulous eating, beautiful brides, stunning grooms, great weather and as our last wedding of the 2013 season approaches (October!) I will try, try will all my might to give each weddings its due space and acknowledgement right here. Oh, the photos!  The photos have been coming in and they are so great, I can’t wait to show them to you.

Fantastic view of last nights’ Celestial Cinema, outdoor movie experience.  Nothing like an entire community coming together to enjoy a beautiful August night complete with yummy food, fresh local beers and wine, lovingly organized kids crafts and oh! a hot air balloon to accompany the film, Up… of course!

Coinciding with the first outdoor movie night of the cinema series I launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for next years Celestial Cinema.  The screen (see lower left corner) and sound rentals are quite spendy and the logistics of coordinating many different businesses, non-profits and vendors is very time consuming.  Please take a look at the campaign HERE

Please consider giving fearlessly. Every little bit counts and helps to ensure the quality and longevity of this beloved film experience.

Give me an “M”

M O V I E nights are coming again to Spring Creek Ranch as our 2nd annual Celestial Cinema film series begins tomorrow night, Friday August 9th with the Disney/Pixar film, Up. Tomorrow’s movie night benefits The Confluence Art Gallery so come on out, eat, drink, watch a great movie and enjoy the night sky.

Thanks, Laurelle for a great write up in the Methow Valley News !

Sneak Peek, Claire & Ted

I had a feeling that we would see some amazing images from Claire and Ted’s July 4th weekend wedding but this… blew me away, Ryan Flynn!  Thank you so much for sharing this first look from their wedding and I cannot wait to see what other magic moments you captured.

Kristen & James

Kristen told me that she skied through Spring Creek Ranch with James last winter, grabbed a brochure, looked through our website that evening and said to herself,

“This is where I’m going to get married.”

Flash forward a year and a half later to  a weekend full of gorgeous details:  bridesmaids dresses in varying shades of coral, peonies in all shades from white to bright pink, antique aqua mason jars, handmade fabric flags, champagne hued glitter on the votive candles, hanging candles, string lights, painted wooden signs, a western themed rehearsal dinner complete with a photo booth and an evening campfire sing along around the fire.

Friends and family came together in an incredible wave of love and support for Kristen and James, singing songs, hauling umbrellas from Seattle, hand lettering antique windows on the lawn, baking pies, arranging  flowers, and even escorting, ahem- Irish Whiskey from Minneapolis to the Methow Valley.  And when there is small batch whiskey pouring there must be a hand made whiskey shack too, right?  Of course!

James’ mother made one of the most moving toasts I’ve heard and when I gave her a hug goodbye on Sunday and told her just that, she looked me squarely in the eye and said,

“This place… you’ve given Kristen and James such a wonderful place to begin their marriage.  This weekend has been such a special start for them. Thank you.”
