Kristen & James

Kristen told me that she skied through Spring Creek Ranch with James last winter, grabbed a brochure, looked through our website that evening and said to herself,

“This is where I’m going to get married.”

Flash forward a year and a half later to  a weekend full of gorgeous details:  bridesmaids dresses in varying shades of coral, peonies in all shades from white to bright pink, antique aqua mason jars, handmade fabric flags, champagne hued glitter on the votive candles, hanging candles, string lights, painted wooden signs, a western themed rehearsal dinner complete with a photo booth and an evening campfire sing along around the fire.

Friends and family came together in an incredible wave of love and support for Kristen and James, singing songs, hauling umbrellas from Seattle, hand lettering antique windows on the lawn, baking pies, arranging  flowers, and even escorting, ahem- Irish Whiskey from Minneapolis to the Methow Valley.  And when there is small batch whiskey pouring there must be a hand made whiskey shack too, right?  Of course!

James’ mother made one of the most moving toasts I’ve heard and when I gave her a hug goodbye on Sunday and told her just that, she looked me squarely in the eye and said,

“This place… you’ve given Kristen and James such a wonderful place to begin their marriage.  This weekend has been such a special start for them. Thank you.”

Rhubarb

Tis the season for Rhubarb and thank you’s.  I received this thank you note via email today after this weekend’s reservation in the Spring Creek Ranch Cabin:

Sarah…that was the most AWESOME CABIN EVER!!!!   The deer were a wonderful bonus and all the little treasures we found there were awesome!  I must say this…I could not get my hubby to hardly leave the cabin!!!  We have an orchard with tons of work and the peacefulness of the cabin and the serenity and all – we just soaked it all in.  We needed it so badly.  Nothing compared to the refreshing we got from just staying in the cabin.  Thank you so much.  Love to you and your family!

Thank you note

I love the little notes that guests leave.  I imagine them packing up on the morning of their departure, folding their clothes back into suitcases and reflecting upon their stay.  Today I found this note at the Ranch House:

Sarah and Daren,

Thanks for the great stay.  What a wonderful place, a little bit of heaven.  Hope to stay in touch and will definitely recommend your place.  Best wishes for the summer.

Gift Certificate

Thank you Julie Clegg of Bailey & Banjo for offering this generous gift certificate to Spring Creek’s canine guests (and their human companions- of course).  Julie came to Spring Creek Ranch last summer to photograph the Ranch for CityDog Magazine.  Her beautiful photography is featured in this edition of CityDog.  You can see all of the wonderful Winthrop out takes here.

Thank you to Riverside Printing for printing all of the cards and thank you to Bailey & Banjo for partnering with us on this project!

Thank You Note

{I received the following hand written note from the couple featured above along with their wedding photos.}

Dear Sarah, Daren and Family,

Thank you so much for making our wedding celebration so memorable.  We had such a wonderful time and can’t think of a better way to experience our wedding than at Spring Creek Ranch.  Thank you again for all of your help in making the day go so smoothly.

Love, Casey and Morgan

Thank you, Morgan and Casey!  For your lovely note and all of your great digital photos.  I look forward to seeing you for your anniversary stay in a few weeks!
