This Moment

A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Welcome Summer

:: Watching Little Star School’s Kinder play and all the irrigation lines through out the valley spring to life- I am finally feeling like summer is here. Welcome summer! I have missed you.

:: June in the Methow is glorious with verdant hills and snow covered peaks.
:: The Ranch House appears nestled into the alfalfa fields this time of year, with lilacs and hawthorne flowers blossoming.
:: The girls spend a lot of their time outside these days. Favorite activities include :chasing chickens, feeding chickens, talking to chickens (anyone notice a pattern? Just checking)…. that is when you can’t find a cat to paint.
:: Feeling so excited to share some of Arthur Shwab’s new photos of Spring Creek!

Congrats Gina and Wes!

Georgina and Wes had a wonderfully blustery ceremony and reception at Spring Creek Ranch this weekend. The rain was held at bay by Georgina’s father who led a beautiful ceremony under a 100 year old willow tree at the edge of our yard.

The food was SO yummy- grilled salmon and meat, incredible mango chutney, fresh salads and a tasty emmer wheat salad.

All of our recent moisture has produced lush, verdant grounds that everyone enjoyed. And since the groom’s family came all the way from Vermont… they felt right at home. Congratulations to two wonderful people, may the road always rise up to meet you.

Happening

:: Spring MUST be here for good, since the arrowleaf balsam root is in full bloom!
:: This Canadian Geese family has made the Ranch House Pond their new home.
:: 1st ice cream of the season at Sherri’s Sweet Shoppe (1st of many Ayla reminds me daily!)
:: Awesome Arthur Shwab and his lovely wife Tracey were our honored guests this weekend. I met Arthur last year when he shot some gorgeous wedding photos for one of our couples and we are so lucky that he agreed to come back to Winthrop and shoot the Ranch for our new website. Thank you! Check him out at www.arthurshwab.com
