Owl’s Nest Directions

Coming from the North over Washington Pass/HWY 20

PLEASE note this pass is CLOSED in the winter

Drive through Winthrop (taking a right at the four way stop in town) and cross over the steel bridge (over the Methow River) and continue south on HWY 20 toward Twisp. Roughly 2.5 miles south of town you will pass a road to your right, Twin Lakes RD, and a sign for Liberty Bell High School. Just after this you will see a yellow house on your left with steel cut outs all around it and a small pink house on your right. Slow down- The Hoot n’ Holler (Hill Drive) is the next road on your right after these two colored houses.

Take a right up Hill Dr. and head up the hill. You want to take your fourth possible left turn, which is right behind an A frame house. The third left has a sign that says “No Through Access”. Take the fourth left, behind the A frame house and then take your first right (there is a wooden owl with a number 3 on the fence) and you see the cabin with a buffalo skull hung on the front.

The total distance off of HWY 20 is only about ½ mile.

The cabin will be left unlocked for you with a key inside. There is no formal check in procedure. You can go directly to the cabin any time after 3pm. Check out is by 11am.

Coming from the South:

Drive through the town of Twisp, and when you pass the Twisp River Pub (closed at this time due to fire) on your left press your trip odometer.

Approximately 4.4 miles north of Twisp you will past a Methodist Church on your right with a big red roof.

Continue north, at approximately 5.3 miles on your trip odometer you will see, on your right a row of mail boxes and a blue county road sign that says Hill Drive with a blue reflector on the post, take a LEFT immediately across the road from this sign and you will see a wooden sign with an owl on it that says, Hoot N’ Holler.

Drive up the road. You will pass a first driveway on your left, keep going….

-then you will see Owl Rd. branching to the right, stay on the main road (bear to the leftish)

-continue up the road and you will pass one more driveway on your right, keep going on the main road…

-you will pass by two more driveways on your left, keep going past until you are behind an A frame, log house. You will see the road branch to the left (just behind the A frame) and there is a blue reflector on the tree. Turn LEFT here, you will be going up a little hill and your first possible RIGHT driveway has a wooden owl on the fence with a #3 and another blue reflector on it. Take this RIGHT and you will see the cabin.

The total distance from HWY 20 to the cabin is only ½ mile.
